Frequently asked questions
How long do preserved branches last?
In suitable conditions – away from direct sunlight and moisture – Arborea Red Nicoly branches last 7 years and more. The single biggest factor that speeds up wear is prolonged direct sunlight, which can gradually fade the leaf colour.
Do Red Nicoly branches suit a room with no window or natural light?
Yes – preserved Red Nicoly branches do not need light. This is one of the main reasons they are used in corridors, meeting rooms, reception areas and other low-light interiors where fresh foliage would not remain attractive.
What is the difference between preserved Red Nicoly branches and artificial branches?
Preserved Red Nicoly branches are real branches grown in nature, harvested at the right stage and preserved using a process that replaces the natural sap with a plant-based preserving agent. The leaves and branch structure are 100% natural. Artificial branches are imitations made from plastic or fabric. The difference is noticeable both visually and to the touch, as well as in their natural appearance.
Do Red Nicoly branches suit a balcony or garden?
No – Arborea Red Nicoly branches are designed for indoor use only. Moisture, rain and outdoor temperature fluctuations damage the preserving agent and significantly shorten their lifespan. Outdoor use is not recommended.
How long are Red Nicoly branches and how should they be styled?
Each bundle of Red Nicoly branches contains stems of varying lengths between 40–80 cm. This natural variation creates a layered, airy and visually balanced arrangement when displayed in a vase. Nicoly branches are ideal for decorative vases, table displays and interior styling, bringing natural texture and greenery to any space without maintenance.
Are Red Nicoly branches made to order?
Yes – Arborea Red Nicoly branches are prepared to order. Stock items are delivered within 2–4 business days; made-to-order items take approximately 3–4 weeks. The exact lead time is shown on the product page.
Do preserved branches have a scent?
In the first few weeks the branches may have a stronger, characteristic scent – this is normal and comes from the fresh preservation process. The plant-based glycerin (bioglycerin) used for preservation is more liquid at first and the pores are still open. As the agent settles and the pores close, the scent disappears naturally. This usually takes a few weeks. If you find the scent intense or the room is small, we recommend keeping the branches in a well-ventilated space to speed up the process.
Are preserved branches safe for children and pets?
Yes – the preservation process uses plant-based glycerin (bioglycerin), which is safe for children and animals. The branches do not flower or release pollen, making them a suitable choice for households with allergy sufferers.
Do preserved branches collect dust?
Preserved branches collect significantly less dust than living houseplants because the preserving agent is not sticky like natural plant sap. Airborne dust can settle over time, but removing it is simple: gently wipe the leaves with a dry soft cloth or brush, or use the cool setting on a hairdryer. If needed, place the arrangement briefly near an open window so a light breeze can remove any loose dust.
